Influencia de las creencias en vejez, salud y enfermedad de adultos mayores en el uso de servicios de salud

Abstract

The beliefs in the health and age are studied from the qualitative paradigm, and from the situation of the Mexican old men.

The objectives give the study they are to relate the beliefs in age, health, and illness with the use services at first level attention and to understand the concept of accounting health and age from the vision gives the biggest adults.

Methodology: The study is qualitative type through the theory based with 8 informations in the enclosed community to the Valle de Aragoón clinic, during the period 2004, in its home by means of semi-directed interview. The analysis  gives data you carries out through the microanalysis, open, axial and selective code.

Results: Some advances are presented, when lacking to develop diverse categories and their interrelations.The beliefs regarding the age are focused like deterioration gives physical functionality, solitude, but that it should be accepted. The preambles give the aging; they head more to modifications the musculoskeletal and digestive system mainly. The vision  gives the health for these informants this guided to the independence, the family support to be free gives illness. The learning gives the health it is given by the history gives life.
