Aceitação ou rejeição de vacinas contra a COVID-19 associadas à vacinação de rotina

Resumo

Introdução: Uma das medidas consideradas eficazes para o controle da pandemia causada pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2 e o desenvolvimento e aplicação de vacinas, porém, estas são rejeitadas pela população. Vários fatores como características pessoais interferem na sua aceitação.


Objetivo: Determinar a associação da vacinação de rotina e características pessoais com a aceitação da vacina COVID-19 em adultos mexicanos.


Metodologia: Estudo descritivo, co-relacional e transversal. A amostra foi composta intencionalmente por 554 adultos residentes no estado de Guanajuato, México. As informações foram coletadas por meio de um questionário online de 10 perguntas. A análise estatística foi realizada por meio das técnicas de estatística descritiva e do teste Qui-quadrado.


Resultados: A maioria dos participantes recebeu alguma vacina contra a COVID-19. Quem apresentou melhor aceitacao a vacinacao foram os participantes do sexo masculino, com 40 anos ou mais, aqueles com ensino superior, moradores de areas urbanas e desempregados. Foi encontrada associação significativa entre histórico de vacinacao contra influenza e aceitação da vacina contra COVID-19 (X2 = 19.24; p ≤0.001).


Discussão e Conclusões: Os participantes demonstraram maior aceitação da vacina COVID-19, assim como em outros estudos. O fato de ter sido vacinado contra a influenza influenciou na decisão de aceitar a vacina contra a COVID-19. Este resultado pode ser devido ao reconhecimento de um efeito positivo da vacinação.
