Abstract

The aim of this research is evaluating nursing attention quality n 5 family medicine units, according to the user opinion within the Tlanepantla  zone in the IMSS Western Delegation in the Mexico State, where the measured variable is: nursing attention quality in the structure, process, and outcomes dimensions . The research type is diagnostic, analytical, descriptive. transversal, and on-field. The inclusion criteria took in  consideration the users at the family medical unit number 52,60,62.64.and 79 in the IMSS western delegation in Tlanepantla. Researching techniques and instruments were: working cards, observation interviews, and questionnaires. The study universe was formed by 5500 Tlanepantla zone users, population was 550 patients and the sample consisted of 535 users. The working hypothesis that says: there is a high quality nursing attention in the 5 family medicine units according the opinion of 544 users, was proven true. The research was carried out in 1998, and in the outcomes it can be stated that nursing attention quality ranges from “good” to “excellent”  and this perception locates itself within the process and outcomes dimensions. According to the users opinion, that low structure quality is partly due to the problems the IMMS has in this time, resulting in that those problems reflect themselves on the nursing attention process. Likewise, the main complains users have about the five units let know these complains go in the structure sense due the lack of supply for medicines clothing, for the patients. In the same way, there are few complains in relation to the nursing staff courtesy and warmth, which reflects a lack of human resources and a work excess, among other things.
