Focus and Scope of Journal

Enfermería Universitaria is a quarterly publication which shares knowledge derived from nursing and other health-related disciplines search, analysis, experience-gathering, and research activities on nursing education, care, and management, in order to strengthen inter and intra discipline interchanges among national and international individuals and health/academic institutions.

Received proposals must be original and be related to any of the following sections:

 

Editorial. Invited experts analyze and opine on a novel topic as a reflection of their own experience, and/or they can comment on other published articles or topics within a journal issue.

 

Research Articles. These articles should aim to diffuse results from novel and unpublished research studies. They can be quantitative (when quantifiable variables are studied), qualitative when they are focused on the understanding of structural and situational contexts), or mixed methods based.

 

Review Articles. Its purpose is to examine the published research on a topic over a limited period of time and place it in a certain perspective.

 

A) Systematized. Should have the purpose of thoroughly assessing a published research topic in a delimited period using uniform criteria.
B) Narrative and C) Historical reviews. Should have the purpose of displaying the treatment given to a specific topic in terms of diverse perspectives.

 

Practice Innovation Articles. These articles should include reflections (essays), experiences (study cases), or original, innovative, or relevant proposals, regarding the areas of health care, management, research, or education, which have clearly contributed to the advancement of nursing.

 

Letters to the Editor. They should be writings related to the articles published in the journal. Authors who are object of these remarks will have the right to reply.

 

 

Review policy

Received articles will go through a selection process lasting 4 months approximately.

 

Editorial Assessment: Upon reception, articles will be checked to the journal guidelines.

 

Academic Assessment: The article´s academic and scientific value is then assessed through a peer-review process involving national and international experts on diverse fields who are external to the Editorial Committee. Editors designate two referees for the case and, should their opinions differ, a third referee would be consulted. The possible assessments are: Accepted; Accepted with minimal modifications; Partial Fulfillment Requiring Re-structuring (in which case, a month is granted to the authors for re-submission, while considering a maximum of three attempts) and Not accepted. During this stage, the anonymity of the authors and reviewers is guaranteed.

 

Resolution: The group of editors, based on the journal guidelines, the academic and scientific assessments, and the opinion of the referees, will determine if the submitted article is published or not.

Manuscript withdrawal policy

Authors may withdraw their writing as long as:

 

Submission phase.

  • ● An obvious error is suspected or discovered in the data presented, which involves making new experiments.
  • ● The authors require a complementary analysis.

 

Review phase.

  • ● Do not start peer review in a period longer than 1-3 months.
  • ● There is no final opinion in 4-6 months.

 

The author must write a letter addressed to the Editorial Committee arguing the scientific or moral reasons for the withdrawal.

 

 

The journal may withdraw your writing as long as:

  • ● It has been detected that the writing has been published in another magazine.
  • ● The author did not send corrections in 30 days after receiving the opinion.
  • ● The author does not respond to communications or requests sent by the journal's editorial team.

 

PENALTY

If the withdrawal of the article occurs when it has been evaluated by peers and the editorial opinion with comments has been sent, the author will not be able to make the adjustments to the article (based on the comments made by the reviewers) and send it to another journal. This conduct affects academic and scientific integrity.

  • ● If it is detected that the research has been published in another journal that includes the observations made by the University Nursing reviewers, the team will contact the journal's editor to inform them that the published article was previously evaluated in the Nursing journal. University and will request recognition for this work.
  • ● The author will be notified of this action in the magazine accounts.
  • ● The author will be banned from the magazine for one year. Subsequently, the journal will evaluate the acceptance of new submissions from the author.

 

 

Open Access Policy

DIFFUSION POLICIES. Accepted and published articles become open-access under the terms of the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license, which authorizes the reproduction and diffusion without commercial purposes, provided the corresponding acknowledgments to their authors. This is:

Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
Non Commercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
No Derivatives — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material.

Authors are allowed to manage a self-archive copy of the article’s published version so that they can place it in their personal or institutional web pages, and/or any other broader diffusion space.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes stated by this journal and will not be available for any other purpose or another person.
