Estructura de la Escala Dimensional del Sentido de Vida en mexicanos que viven con VIH

Resumen

Introducción: Las personas que viven con enfermedades crónicas suelen experimentar cambios en su sentido de vida a partir del momento en que reciben el diagnóstico. Existe la necesidad de desarrollar escalas adaptadas específicamente para personas con seropositividad en alguno de los tipos de VIH, las cuales permitan medir su sentido de vida de manera adecuada.


Objetivo: Explorar la estructura factorial de la Escala Dimensional del Sentido de Vida en una muestra de personas adultas mexicanas que vivieran con VIH.


Metodología: La estructura factorial de la Escala Dimensional del Sentido de Vida se determinó por análisis factorial exploratorio en una muestra por conveniencia de 140 personas que vivían con VIH. La confiabilidad de los factores se determinó con el coeficiente omega de McDonald.


Resultados: Con el análisis factorial exploratorio se identificaron 2 factores, a los que se denominó vacío existencial (12 reactivos) y coherencia (4 reactivos), con coeficientes de confiabilidad de 0.928 y 0.846, respectivamente.


Discusión y conclusiones: La adaptación y validación de la Escala Dimensional del Sentido de Vida en una muestra de personas adultas mexicanas que vivían con VIH demostró que se trata de una herramienta confiable con una estructura factorial clara para medir el sentido de vida en esta población.
