Tecnologías avanzadas para el tratamiento de heridas crónicas: una revisión sistemática

Resumen

Introducción: Las heridas crónicas surgen de una alteración de las fases de la cicatrización, alteración asociada a factores de riesgo para esas heridas. Se caracterizan por una inflamación sostenida durante meses o incluso años. Las tecnologías avanzadas abarcan diversos tipos de procedimientos y dispositivos para tratar una herida, lo que favorece la cicatrización de diversas formas.


Objetivo: Identificar las tecnologías avanzadas utilizadas en enfermería para el tratamiento de heridas crónicas.


Metodología: Revisión sistemática con búsquedas en abril y mayo de 2022. Los sistemas utilizados fueron Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, Dialnet, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, PubMed, LILACS y ClinicalKey Students. En ciertas búsquedas se utilizaron términos normalizados en los vocabularios Descriptores en Ciencias de la Salud y Medical Subject Headings, y en otras se empleó lenguaje común. Se analizaron los documentos con base en las guías en español del Critical Appraisal Skills Programme, con lo que se obtuvo una muestra de 19 documentos.


Resultados: Se identificaron 12 tecnologías avanzadas para el tratamiento de heridas crónicas, y fue claro que 2 de estas (la terapia de presión negativa y el plasma rico en plaquetas) eran las más apoyadas por la evidencia, ya que aceleraban la cicatrización, disminuían la inflamación y prevenían infecciones.


Discusión y conclusiones: Los autores antecedentes coincidían en que los principales beneficios de estas tecnologías radicaban en la aceleración de la cicatrización, la disminución de la inflamación y la prevención de infecciones. Todas las tecnologías requieren más investigación para confirmar su eficacia.
